about
This song was written on a remote beach in the far north western corner of Washington's Olympic Peninsula. I had taken a solo backpacking trip and sitting around an inescapable coming sunset, found myself writing a story about a character type with many faces, each face morphing into "any flavor" you'd like; a character filling a void that seemed to only be present in the dark, stillness of solitude.
The recording process was very fun, and the first of the songs released to feature a studio besides my home studio, Humble Jungle Studio.
The drums for Harms were recorded at the legendary London Bridge Studios in Seattle, Washington, where local titans like Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Macklemore, Fleet Foxes, Candlebox, and many more have recorded for their excellent sounding room, engineers, and exquisite gear selection. The guitars, bass, synthesized strings/flute sounds and vocals were all done at my studio.

LYRICS
Sun passed the lady going forward in reverse, well she’s got time to kill
Tattoos on her sleeve, she’s got that dead set look but she ain’t going nowhere
Dancing shoes and walking blues, whatever flavor you want you know she’s got it
She let someone loosen up in here about an hour ago
And it gives her harms
It gives her harms
Waiting by the window
for somebody she used to know
Will he bring her new love
Or just some memory
Run past a thousand faces, you never had time but you didn’t want to choose
Take time, align your sign, you got too close to the sun and felt it’s skin
Hot trot and never caught, you never should of bought a one way to the moon
Busy has a way of feeling you were never here
And it gives her harms
It gives her harms
